Unfading

Unfading

A Poem by Caradoc
"

Love Lies Bleeding (Amaranthus Caudatus)

"

And he swore to care,
Until the end of his days,
Always.
Though she was not now,
And never would be, his.
Like the flower from whence he took his name
The love he felt,
For one among millions was,
Unfading...

I have to say pieces about unrequited love are so often portrayed with such anger, as if the speaker felt entitled to that person because of all they have done for them, yet this poem is at the absolute opposite of the spectrum. You are dedicated to your love and will honest-to-god do anything for that person out of the love cradled within you and without any expectations for receiving anything in return. A gentle love, if you will; one that feels neither entitled nor obsessive. A gentle love that will think of him or her with every rising sun, with every occasional good thing, with every smile, just at the back of the mind perpetually.

Well done, as always, Caradoc.

Wow, this is amazing Cara, a powerful and emotional piece. Some loves will never fade, those are the kind of loves we desire yet hate when they are gone. This one just punched my heart ... brilliant, my friend.

Thank you. Indeed, some never do. They linger.
when we really love someone, we own that love, not the person...
but we allow for that person to be who he or she is...
and when that happens...the love really is unfading.

even if the love is not accepted.

The piece of poetry is like a message in a bottle .. If (love) doesn't rescue you from this cast away land.. This last message will remind me of you. For all the stars in the lit up sky, you shined the brightest, you're the one in the million that caught my eye. This gave a heartbeat to the magic of love. love love love this.

Your response is beautiful. Thank you for stopping by. :)
What can I say Caradoc, you're the front liner of short powerful pieces. Much respect brother. This has my emotions on a "I hate myself for loving you" roller coaster. The agony and the ecstasy. Lovely piece...

for some reason the music doesn't work on my end.. I don't have the greatest track record with technology, but tried a few things to get it to play.. the piece is heartbreaking.. it is so powerful... the depth of emotion and the intensity while maintaining a gentle tone you managed here is beautiful and impressive.. they have a cliched saying.. "true love never dies".. I don't know what I believe as I could argue that both ways.. but this poem shows just how "truly, madly, deeply" you can.. (yes, quoted a song---grrr.. I am hopeless).. I like the unique way you phrased certain parts in here. gave it a fairy-tale-ish feel.. very nice.. of course, I always enjoy your writes.. this is good example why.. exquisite...
