Ha, I love your errant thoughts... Haven't I said that a dozen times already? Lol...
Anyway, this one does make me question where heartache comes from, and how much of it you create yourself... And if you break your own heart vs let someone else do so, how does that feel different? Which leads me to... Which, if either, can you control?
Hmm...

Heartache and love go hand in hand it seems, and I think neither can really be controlled to any great extent, save for complete isolation from human contact. And even then, one would end up turning those feelings to a pet, a garden, or even a cherished teacup. I believe we are designed to love and it is something most, if not all of us will feel eventually. And because all things end, heartache inevitably follows.
Thank you for swinging by. :)

I think... what's the point of love, if it doesn't have the power to break us?

I like this one as well. Funny, you have a lot of wordier pieces, but maybe kitty's attention span purrfurrs the shorter ones ...:)

I've always enjoyed longer works, both reading and writing them. One day I will write an epic poem. However, due to the urging of a good friend of mine, Belle, I began to pour out short pieces like this one.
Thanks for stopping by, and I love that "purrfurrs", lol.
Another thought provoking piece... wow, I am enthralled by your ideas... if this is just errant thoughts that you pull these kind of questions from...then I am in awe of you. Well done!

I'm a fan of your short piece's Caradoc. You always make them powerful and to the point. I always walk away in deep thought about your words, this latest piece is just that, powerful. Well done my friend.

I try to stick with the formula Belle gave me for the short writes. 20 words or less and be concise and to the point. They're almost snippets of philosophical phrases. At least, that's what I try to make them.
Glad you enjoy them and that they make readers think.
I encourage visitors to this page to take a look at a few authors whose work I admire and enjoy.
