Lonely Angel

Lonely Angel

A Poem by Caradoc
"

...

"

The moment we met, I knew I was doomed

Time stood still, and the world raced by

I'd fallen again, this time for you

I trembled when I saw the look in your eye

Ensnared by your black magic spell

I tumbled down, from heavens high

On eyes like night my wayward mind did dwell

Orbs that burned with a passionate fire

They haunted my dreams, as from grace I fell

Many a friend and foe did I name a liar

Denying all of what they told me

But within this angel's heart beats desire

Trapped in the web of your sorcery

I fail to grasp the brightest jewel

I'm consumed by sorrow and misery

In exile, I long for my soul's renewal

Wings torn and scarred, heart lost and charred

A cry echoes from inside a Lonely Angel

The first and last stanzas evoked such strong contrasting emotions (in me)..... A sighing contented, caressed hopeless romantic that longs for that sentiment reflected in another with the first one.... A scarred, hurting, longing, heart that is barely beating yet trying to find its way again forever hoping to find the other half in the last..... I know I relate to both sides of that....(I may have only fell once but it was so profound scars so deep, yet I dare to dream)....Beautifully written...

Fantastic imagery! It's hard not to get 'ensnared' in the black spell...

Indeed. I 'fell' a lot when I was younger. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Wonderful. I can picture it in my mind's eye...the angel, the sorrow, the longing, so beautiful. Tragically pretty.

Fantastic. Sounds like the synopsis of one of my books. Graceful and well written.

Reminded me of the romance fantasy novel Fallen by Lauren Kate. It's pretty mainstream. Heard they were doing a movie about it. This however holds a more sorrowful tone which I like a lot. The imagery, message, and flow, all beautiful. Like this a lot

I love the symbolism maintained throughout the piece. The only thing is that the flow seems a little and I mean a very little bit off... But it may just be me lol...but like I said I love the piece and the symbolism!
