Pity the BirdsA Poem by Captivating InkThey aren't as free as once thought.Once you grow wings And soar for the first time Enriching your heart In the great freedoms of the world Your head will always tilt A bit towards the ocean above As you wish to soar Just once more. For you will never forget How you felt infinite If but just In that one moment Of pureness. And you will envy The birds Who taunt you from above As they taste the sweetness That you have only sampled Once. But be jealous no more, my precious sweet Pity the birds Do not envy For no matter how far They roam They will always be Tethered to the earth. A prisoner Just like the rest of us. © 2012 Captivating InkAuthor's Note
