Fading Dream

Fading Dream

A Poem by Captain Rilen

Treading the path softly,

In this dream that seems to lie.

Stepping with my tippy toes,

If I step on it, it willdie.

Unsure of where I go,

Will I soar right through the sky?

Will I bumble about to and fro,

And never learn to fly?

Still I'm filled with hope,

Still I continue to try.

But I'm entangled in my rope,

Though I've climbed so high.

If I tumble down the slope,

And leave my dream behind.

I'll stumble like a dope,

Wandering the world blind.

And so this dream,

It may come to an end.

It'll break right at the seam,

No room left to pretend.

throughout, this dream - whatever one may perceive that to be - appears so fragile but the narrator knows it will come to an end so is being so cautious hoping to extend its length. sometimes life can seem too good to be true and this is the perfect analogy for that
