Spider

Spider

A Poem by Captain Rilen

The spider clings on,

It itches to bite and sting.

Crawling around my brain,

Ensnaring its plaything.

Tugging at my mind,

Disturbing the cobwebs.

Concurrently creating new ones...

And the spider trickles down,

Interrupting my thought.

The slick, string of silk,

Ignorant to reality's retort.

Whenever I fight it,

It simply injects its poison.

Infecting my mind,

Fatiguing my body.

 No tears are shed,

And no words are shouted.

Inside me it is restrained,

Lest it leech onto others.

I'll wait for it to die,

Shut down so it starves.

Endure its wrath,

Endure it until it's gone.

Such vivid imagery. This is a very well written poem. It flows beautifully and the vocabulary is choice. I especially liked the second verse: "Tugging at my mind,Disturbing the cobwebs.Concurrently creating new ones..." Life is such a catch22 sometimes and you've described it in a brilliant and unique way. Amazing poetry my friend. Stay inspired! :)

"The spider clings on,

I get a sense of unpleasant memories,
that resurface from time to time,
and the struggle keep them at bay,
creating new ones. Vivid, imaginative,
beautifully written and expressed.

First of all I love the use of alliteration "The slick, string of silk," It just rolled off the tongue. You started out with a really great rhythm but I feel like it fell a little in the second stanza. Other than that, imagery was beautiful and the concept was perfect. I feel like we all have a little spider that crawls around in our brains interrupting our thoughts and corrupting our very minds at some points in time. I really enjoyed reading this you did a superb job!

Very vivid imagery I must say...my favourite line was, "The slick, string of silk,"..it sits very nicely on the tongue...

The poem showcases inner struggle in very beautiful and involving way. Makes you see the spiders in new light too.

Your spider stands for psychosis yes ? You want to shut down your thoughts to starve the spider but it feeds on the brain itself?

Captivating and intriguing. Well done.

This is the utmost powerful poem i read all day. I wish i could say more to describe it but I can not. I can only say that its bloody descriptive and moving it has a impact on which can not move to feel. I thought it was going to be boring but it really brought a chill but a warmth to my heart as i continued to read. I feel like there is a imagery here and this is suppose to be a symbol of some shorts. I put it in my own words heart moving and eye catching. I would suggest who ever stumbles upon this writing that they should read it until the end because it just has that much affect on it
