Fading Away

Fading Away

A Poem by Captain Rilen

Numb to pain,

Though it's crawled up my neck.

See the rising flood waters,

Leaving me blind to that shipwreck.

Those waters,

They're the waters of time.

Much like a similar rhyme,

Though embedded in crime.

An inescapable,

An inexplicable crime.

Born from nature,

Part of its grime.

These fading memories,

The act seeming so benign.

So much is lost,

Thrown out in decline.

Why would I forget,

These times that are mine?

Is there some answer?

Is it to keep me aligned?

I'm okay with being unbalanced,

Believe me it's fine.

No it's not.

The answer's drawn from my mind.

An amazing and well thought-out piece hey!
Really loved the flow and effortless feeling I got as I read
Felt like I was floating on air.
Every line I read got me excited to read the next

"Why would I forget these times that are mine?" An incredible deep piece of poetry with a lot of questioning. Keep writing and keep smiling. :)
