Metallic Hell

Metallic Hell

A Poem by Captain Ugly
"

I'm not even sure. Wierd one!

"

gears turning; organic but cold

fires blazing behind hard steel eyes

fears churning deep, but never told

pain encrusted functional lies

feelings pulsing on the inside

nestling in mechanical shell

all accessible facets died

leaving behind Metallic Hell

challengers broken one by one

by hard-skinned fists with no remorse

punches fired like bullets from guns

boots battering with lethal force

sinews strain as shots find their course

flesh explodes as arms launch hot shells

smashing every new light source

leaving behind Metallic Hell

memories of life are buried

in a hole that has no known end

mortal strain too much to carry

never will resurrect again

can’t afford for resolve to bend

signs of weakness ring dinner bells

all humanity will find it’s end

leaving behind Metallic Hell

ever defend

none but itself

no love, no friends

Metallic Hell

sounds like what is it to see behind a soldier's eyes after they return, even in chronogical order! Notice the 3rd stanza, is like the way they summarize their point of view after they have returned. The beauty of a piece is when you can take it as you wish, this piece is versatile. :)
