Change the Channel

Change the Channel

A Poem by Captain Ugly
"

Muck-muck running on!

"

Vile domestic screams and a shocking moral thud

Mommy’s got the gun, Daddy’s face down on the rug

Today the walls are singing mystery,

False functionality is history

Sweet family’s a shattered masterpiece

Cold newsmen revel in the tragedy

Change the channel

Flip the panel

Cousin can’t stop crying, the devil stole his voice

Uncle’s in the closet with frightened little boys

Tonight the wreckage hit local playgrounds,

Whining hostages are crawling uptown

London Bridge is falling down on our heads

Step on a crack and we’ll all wind up dead.

The truth is rising from the dead

The boot colliding with our heads

Bruising laughter from the gutter

And the blood flows

The freaks are crawling from their holes

Trading their freedom for their souls

Exposing every dark detail

On the talk shows

Heroin nights, pay per view fights

Pain parades the globe via satellite

Living for love, dying for spite

Join the masquerade with the neophytes

And the nymphos

Dial exotic dreams and masturbation love

Flying with the ravens and preying on the doves

Tonight insanity is majesty

The city noises form a tapestry

And we all wait for slaughter happily

Lapping poison from cold stream fallacy

Change the channel

Flip the panel

1 2 and 3! A better life is stalking me

It must be true because I heard it on TV

Today is killed by tomorrows bright dreams

You better get yourself a self esteem

Bite the hook on the reeled in real time schemes

Pick your magic path and choose up your team

Your roots are anchoring your wings

Your ambitions on puppet strings

Worthless chatter from a rich man

And your job’s gone

Crime rates are in the wake

Of every fat pig on the take

His wife is bitching about cars

Eating bon-bons!

Cold neon nights, stomped human rights

Markets as stable as wet dynamite

Living for hope, dying for lies

All children chewing on their parents old plights

Training time’s gone!
