10-10-16 The Beast, DepressionA Poem by Captain Savage
A dark wind blows past me,
riding on it, a foul stench bringing despair and hopelessness heralding the arrival of the Beast. attacking at times of weakness. Walls standing unguarded, entering uninvited and unchallenged as it pleases claws sharp for the attack, fangs which hold on tight, screaming its cold piercing howl, sending dread shivering down the spine, in an attempt to stun you before the attack. now standing frozen, the war rages inside this beast has no true physical form and shape shifts, creating unique torment. Draining from you, your energy, and your will to fight This Beast, Depression, clawing at you from the inside, wishing to leave behind a husk, it changes how you think and rids you of your desire to seek companionship. for this would weaken it's hold. so I once again. take up my weapons ink and paper,my blood letting tools removing the beast one word at a time four years time i had suffered though it's leeching hold, and had lost myself. Finally free from the wasteland of the mind, i will not be dragged back and will stab this mighty beast with metal pen in hand, draining from it life as the ink flows across the page regaining my self, with it's blood © 2016 Captain Savage |
