The Painter

The Painter

A Poem by Jessica L Auster

If I were the painter,

You'd be my canvas....

And you would be my most

Brilliant work of art.

Your hues would be like no other,

And my favorite part would be the emerald green.

But in my home you would stay,

Because having to part would be awful.

An artist's first work of art

Is always their prized.

This is such a vivid, moving work of art. I love the painted aspects of love and tenderness expressed throughout. Brilliant!

Bravo!
At first, I was a little turned off by the seemingly cliche talk of how the person would be your best work, but then how you describe that you wouldn't let it out the house was just beautiful.
Original. A twist worthy of the name twist!!
Great write, enjoyed it.

Yours truly,

I love how you use true "Artistic Words"
Are you a painter, I wouldn't be surprised if you were.
You show true awe, it's lovely.
