Departed

Departed

A Poem by Jessica L Auster
"

Sort of like my trilogy of "I'm Missing You Like Crazy"

"

Your train is gone,
So are you.

My tears are here,
But why do they hurt so much?

Why didn’t I tell you my truth?
Come back to me, for I don’t think this is right.

It’s only been an hour,
And I’m missing you like crazy.

Controlling myself won’t be easy,
Because you’re the only one who does so.

Lover, please, don’t let me stray from your heart,
Because you’ll never stray from mine.

You’re a mere memory now,
But I can still hear your voice,
I can still see your face,
And I can still feel your touch.

You’ve departed from me,
Now I don’t think you’re coming back.
Sometimes I dream of seeing you on the train home.
But I keep telling myself, you’re nothing but a sweet memory…

                             …That’s never coming back.

This poem really caught my attention. I know these feeling well, as I'm sure we all do. I like the part:

"You're a mere memory now,
But I can still hear your voice,
I can still see your face,
And I can still feel your touch."

Reminds me of something that I have written. I really like this poem a lot and I am looking forward to reading more. Keep up the great work! ;)>
