The Queen

The Queen

A Poem by Jessica L Auster
"

Giving a voice to a literary underdog.

"

I was just having a stroll in my park,

In case you didn't know, I'm the Queen of Hearts.

In my land, I'm the only ruler,

And when she stumbled about, it was easy to fool her.

Alice was a dimwitted blonde,

With her brain, she couldn't match my wand.

I heard from that rabbit that she's a mess,

Alice ruined his house, but I forget the rest.

Now as I was saying,

We started fraying,

I told her I wanted my trees painted red,

And if she didn't, I'd bash in her head.

Of course the dumb girl did what I said,

By the way, she hasn't come back with my meds.

The mindless girl is starting to spree,

What? Does she think she can get away from me?
