When?

When?

A Poem by Jessica L Auster

I've always said

"When I grow up,

I wanna be a writer".

But when do we grow up?

Do we gains inches?

In that case, everyone

"Grows up".

Except for one, of course...

His name is Peter Pan.

Right? Or it could mean...

Getting wiser.

In that case, not everyone

"Grows up".

Love the questions and the playfulness of your response. And I have concluded that if you want to be a writer when you grow up, you must be grown up already!

I think you have a great point cause though many grow older they don't grow up... A poem that makes the reader think, that's what great poetry does... nicely done.

Who wants to grow up? I want to look at things just like they are always brand new.

There is wisdom in the eyes of a child. . .

very wise indeed. part of wisdom is the wisdom of knowing that it can never fully be attained. if you have already learned that then it is a great thing

I concur with your thoughts. What defines "grown up"? I liked how you posed the question. I would love to see you delve deeper into this matter, beyond the surface and give me the reader a little more to chew on. Other then that this was good. Now if you excuse me...I have some serious growing up to do...I'm too damn short for my own good (literally).-Catrina
