Lift Your Spirits

Lift Your Spirits

A Poem by Captain Spanky

Lift your spirits, my love, my beautiful one.

The winter has passed, the rains have gone

And flowers cover the world.

It's a time for singing, not for crying.

You are my dove, high up in a tree.

I long to see your face.

I long for your sweet voice.

A face that's so lovely.

A voice so divine.

I dream of my beloved, we lie among flowers

Until daybreak drives the shadows away.

You are my rose, my lily, my flowering apple tree

In my field of flowers in my dreams.

I can see you now, blonde and fair and

In your face I find a grace that only a

God could share.

So when I call don't despair,

For all I ever wish,

Is to gently stroke your hair.
