The Hollow Mountain

The Hollow Mountain

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

The great Rocky Mountain trembled

and opened his hollow eyes

He trembled again

and cried surging waterfalls down his mountainside

Flooding the Village of Stoics below

Never have they seen such a sight

True sadness and pain expressed by the Rock

So they cried, too

The great Sob that thundered and shook the world

Flooded and rushed in pulsating waves

Exterminating grime

Polishing existence into a fine, clear Gem

In the decrescendo of tears and sobs

Clouded skies open up to a swirling Blue

And the Mountain smiles - no longer hollow

He has been fully realized

And he came to Life
