Progress

Progress

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

Standing in the Building of Life's lobby

BOOM! and it all comes crashing down

Crushed underneath the debris

Do you roll over and die?

Never - push and squeeze to remove the weight

Fierce determination - fire in the eyes

Never quit, only stop when the body dies

Sweating and sore but still pushing forward

Alas, a glimpse of light

To still be trapped but see the world

Is enough to continue the fight

What are you willing to do?

How far are you willing to go?

Do you fall back into the negative?

Or overcome and create the positive?

Progress!
