Keep Pushing

Keep Pushing

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

Three losses of differning causes

Sometimes what is needed are pauses

It takes its toll, the unexpected

One must revive when feeling dejected

Sing to the tune of a broken beat

Mile after mile on callused feet

Step into the light and back to the norm

Prepared to battle the next storm

Taken hostage by a vivid thought-crime

Confined to a cell and doing the time

Lift the black weil, stand up and see

Reclaim your right and be set free
