Greetings in Abundance

Greetings in Abundance

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

Alone, facing the highest of mountains

Where the Gods deliberate on Nature

Congress of Destiny and Senate of Fate

Love floats gracefully to the side, and smiles

Simmered excitement draws toward center

Steps disappearing towards the Summit peak

Overwhelming the essence of our Creators

Aloof in anxiety, fear, and anticipation

Last step falls behind and a stand is taken

Eyes are wide in uneven reflection

Oh Goddess! Your sight is too lovely to believe

Penetrate my nature with cosmic seduction

Goblets of wine borne from a grape

Stories of centuries and laughter to tears

For every purpose there is a cause provoked

In thin air I breathe, and smile, and choke

A Golden castle reserved

Timeless happiness released from the aeons

Enter the heavenly chamber

Immortality in a kiss

Sun is drunk by the dew of the Earth

and sober we be in this palace in the sky

Release the leaves in her hair to sea

Over the spinning planets' complaceny

And we shall never again have to say goodbye

Farewell to Farewells, only greetings in abundance
