Relive, Retract, Retreat

Relive, Retract, Retreat

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

One finds Two - Two finds another

Two is wrapped up and it's starting to smother

Smother away all the visions One dreamed

Choking on knowing nothing is at it seems

It all works in circles, in cycles, and turns

Accepting the truth is key, but it churns

Churns away at the inside of One

Faster than light - the visions are gone

Gone is the Paradise that One has known

The ticking expectation has finally blown

Blown into pieces and spread into bits

Every assertion rejected by hits

Hits to the psyche and hits to emotion

This life raft is lost - floating in open ocean

Oceans are vast and vary like Life

Softest, sweetest touch, or the edge of a knife

Knives know the pain, but openly show it

Hidden is the message of the lost, broken Poet

The Poet, he screams, from the burning inside

And writing becomes his only way to hide
