In the Moment the Eyes Glance at the Sun

In the Moment the Eyes Glance at the Sun

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

No sooner than I knew I was living on my own

No faster than I could see I knew the confines of liberty

No clearer than the ocean did I drown in new emotion

No longer hazed in mystery was the answer to the misery

Sauntering down the alley of eternal madness

Faire les vitrines and enter doors of sadness

Enter doors of rage, love, hate, and hope

To climb a rock without the safety of a rope

Enter the day where the darkness likens

Itself to the seed of the plant. A crucial

element to the process of being - Seeing

green and blue take control of you

Yellow bricks shine yet hide in the shade

For a moment of the day the sun-smile is made

Content to its absence yet excited for the return

This is the essence of what Life leaves to learn

Be it night or revolving day

Yellow bricks shine anyway

At a distance or intimate glance

Every new instant is a different chance

The Earth breathes the cold before it whispers on the Sun

In the moment the eyes glance at the Sun

Everything comes undone
