The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Capaneus

The Truth is the only religion

    Action's the only church

and there's never gonna be another chance to see how far back we could have beat the jerks

The Truth's got a penchant for givin

    don't need forgiven anyway

It's planning dreams, planting things, ready for a rainy day

When the Truth is the one whose driven

    won't ever wander astray

compass needle seen it straight between dark night to the light of day

Cause the Truth got a way with a livin

while a lie's just tryin to get away

It's the distance in between a friend and fiend

It's the singer in the symphony

Yeah the Truth gotta tell a vision

    of a celebrated sanctuary

cause the heart of life is clean, it's soul serene, and we'll succumb unto it's sanctity

The Truth's gonna wail on snivelin

    heals up instantly

The lightest armor gleams it's glarring beams as great as on the grandest day

yeah the Truth is the way I'm feeling

when the Truth is the words I say

    The clean contented being

    backward seeing

    how clarity went away
