Try and TameA Poem by ChrisPA poem I wrote a few years ago about a children's book I love!
So take off all the color Take all the chances from the ground And I am tired, you can’t help me sleep So I remain here, awake Continue to write this night away Sail this ship a year, underneath my bed
All these stories I believe But if you don’t I won’t cry Because I can sail away each night Into my own kingdom I had earned with my teeth and claws To make all these things more real
So I rule these things to feed their fear Such wild things As I’ve dressed myself So once again I go home To my bed, and the steaming bowl Now my mask is off, and I am home
We’ll now see, this is how you become king To rule all the monsters and beasts To tell them how to believe And we will leave, as we all do
