Fairytales Are Wrong

Fairytales Are Wrong

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

they are a bunch if bullshit.

"
Fairy tales are wrong,
Someone has to die,
If people don't believe that,
They are living a lie.

Snow White didn't get her prince,
He went the wrong way,
Sleeping Beauty never woke up,
She never saw another day.

The fairy god mother didn't show,
Cinderella didn't go to the ball,
Humpty died from blood clots,
After he fell from the wall.

Bella didn't love the beast,
He died along with the rose,
The princess didn't kiss the frog,
He was to slimy and gross.

The ugly duckling stayed that way,
He never ever looked good,
The three little pigs ended in the butchers,
We all knew they would.

Fairy tales are just another lie,
Like the world is based on,
Make us believe all this s**t,
When its all so wrong.

Another damn excuse,
For adults to mess us about,
Fill our heads with nonsense,
And let us work it out.

Yes, life is often difficult and some days it is extremely dark. I think the point of reading fairytales is to brighten that gloom for an instant with something precious, something called hope, which is a rare commodity these days. Plus, these stories are meant for the young who do not know the cruelty of the world. If that younger generation can find a little hope from these stories then that is great, and the stories have done the job.

We as adults just have to suspend our disbelief, because the young have the chance to let experience shape their lives, and just maybe they will be lucky enough to have ones that don't destroy their spirits. Every cave needs a light at the end of the tunnel. It is all a matter of innocent and experience plus home much hope you hold on to. Even in the face of a disastrous life, some may use the stories to elevate themselves and not resign to the world as it exists today.

Nice job pointing out the flaws in the stories, nice rhyme scheme too.
