Forever Takes Work

Forever Takes Work

A Story by Kaspar Carr
"

Forever is not easy there are and will be bumps but if we do love eachother as we do say we have to work togeather love.

"

Baby we should take our time, if we're calling this forever.
Put in work, keep faith in us if we're going to be together.
Slow and steady to win the race, and brace for bumps ahead.
Stabilize in each others eyes, keep promises we've said.

Love is never simple if it's true and meant to last,
It's blind and deft and dumb sometimes, but cannot be surpassed.
We're lucky that we found it in a world that's so far off,
We're blessed to go from hardened hearts to something to damned soft.

We doubted from our pasts before we knew that it was real,
And sometimes we get lazy with all the crazy things we feel.
When we fight with all our might we still can't stay apart,
Because we know that if it's over we'd be missing half our heart.

We went through what we did so that our path's could sweetly cross.
Lonely all those years so we could learn from all that loss.
Truth be told I'd die for you and stand right in your place,
I'd take your bullet and breathe my last, happy in your embrace.

We've gone so far I can't go back, I'm only me with you.
Never expected to be so deep, because it's so long overdue.
We deserve the love we've got and cannot let it go,
Lost and free in each other's arm's, quickly going slow.

I love your groggy morning smile, I can see us growing old together and we both know where we've been.
I've seen you cry into your pillow and you've seen me roaring mad,
I live to wipe your tears away, you're the calmest thing I've had.

You think your not enough for me but I trust you with my life,
I want my children to call you mommy and proudly be your husband.
If the world was ending tonight it'd be you I'd want to hold,
And in Heaven tomorrow you'd be my cuddly clouds of gold.

Without your love to look to I'd never know who I am,
You built us a foundation that's never touched a grain of sand.
I'll never know just what I did, God blessed me very much,
Because your kiss is my slow love song and the poet is your touch.

Breathing would be an impossible task if you ever went away,
I'd be eleven broken roses in a sad black lace bouquet.
You're the greatest beauty God has made on Earth,
And I'll protect His gift to me because forever? It takes work.
