Requiem of Autumn

Requiem of Autumn

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

here i am again my friend. alone.

"

Summer was filled
with such contentment
I gave no thought to the fact
that seasons end
as, under the cooling shade
of the oak tree
we laughed, we kissed, we loved
but, that was many yesterdays ago

now

'neath a lonesome moon
I sit listening to
orchestral winds strum
dejected branches
haunting them to mute

and

as a kaleidoscope of coppers
cascade in their final
tango of death
I realize
you will never return
to our special place
my love....
