A new kind of love

A new kind of love

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

i wish we could just start all over

"

I've been hurt because of you
cried tears of a cold blue
listened to metaphors
that damaged my basilar membrane
stayed up late nights
until I went from normal to insane.
Let you in so close
that you replaced the lungs
in my chest. Let you become
so important that I'd never
say no.

That was then this is now...

I forgive you for the secrets kept
and the forgotten promises.
When you forgot to call me back
or remember our five month anniversary.
When you called me "Mike" and said he
was just a friend.

I want now to be anew. A fresh start like
a new lily blooming in the
spring. A brand new car sitting in the
drive way.The sound of an infants
heartbeat. I want it all. Just for
us, all I want is a new kind of love.
