Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

you will hate me..

"

I will row.
Row.
Row, my boat.
Through your blood stream.

Searching for your heart.
I'm hoping I can make.
It start.

All over again.
Take a breath, my friend.

You're drowning in the sea.
And I have to.
Let you be.
You're slipping from my hand.
And I have to.
Understand.

Scream it once.
Twice.
Three times, maybe.
To let you go.

That I can't save you.
And you'll hate me.
If I do.

All over again.
But you can't die, my friend.

You're drowning in the sea.
And I have to.
Let you be.
You're slipping from my hand.
And I have to.
Understand.

The waves.
Are.
Coming.
Too fast.

Kiss.
My.
Lips.
And make it last.

You're drowning in the sea.
And I have to.
Let you be.
You're slipping from my hand.
And I have to.
Understand.

You're drowning.
Take a breath my friend.
And you're life won't end.
You're slipping.
Away.
From me.
