The Light

The Light

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

i will NEVER be the same

"

Caught in a world of nothing
Blackness, consuming everything
One light pierces the absolute darkness
One light

You took my hand
You guided me
Through the blackened sea
Through the whirling sand

My heart was a void
Until you filled the nothingness
And gave me reason to live
You gave my soul peace

Fate stepped in
It took you from me
Across the blackened sea
And the whirling sands
The light disappeared
As I had feared
As you died,

so did I
