Where Angels Burn

Where Angels Burn

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

Where is is this place

"
A dark sky and a bleak sun,
I think about all that I've done
And I wondered if I deserved hell,
The stars begin to melt,
I look at my reflection
And remember that I died,
But inside, I've never felt more alive

Death, before Living
Darkness, before Light
I've succumbed to the evil Shadows,
Cause I know sins are what they like
My heartbeat is non-existent,
Even breathing, there wasn't a difference
I swallowed life, but then upchucked it
If you feel the same, just kick the bucket

Lost souls begin to whisper,
I just had a demon for dinner
Mortality, it's what I won't miss
As blood is drenched, on my lips
I can feel the heat,
In the piercing cold of, night
And for once, I've never felt more alive

Maybe you would call it conscience,
Maybe you would say it's fear,
Fear of being sent where Angels burn
And the skies are never, clear
The screams of agony
So vividly heard, torn in tears
Death is at the gate; sniveling and smirking
I'm glad to be welcomed, here

Here, where Angels burn

Truly this tackles a dark yet fascinating scene. It spoke to me of a person who already knew the consequences of her actions. Sometimes it's tempting to go into the dark realm. Very well penned.

Fascinating write. Seemed more grey than a dark place.
