Lost At Sea

Lost At Sea

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

You let me drown

"
The warmth of reciprocated feelings slipped through my fingers,
And the memories are all that linger.
The unspoken words remain unsaid-
Collapsed, numb, nearly dead.
Sanctuary was in your embrace
Now darkness holds me, and I can't erase
Black ink flows across pages
Releasing the emotions held down in cages.
The Silence slowly sealed my tongue,
Finishing thoughts before they'd begun.
My mind, void and frayed
Lost at Sea, cast away.
A Heart susceptible to so much pain
Drowned in tears, drowned in rain.
I had reached above the waves,
Called your name, "You're the brave!"
But my darkened storms dulled the sound,
Words were lost and none were found.
So you left, you sailed away.
Here I drowned, and here I stay.
