New Form

New Form

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

what have i become.. this is all new..

"
Slowly clutching my hands over the skull of the man
with a rip across the hair line bearing the skull,
finding the will to crack it open with one swift hit
to live until the next overtaking natural desire.

Flicking of my tongue slowly over the rough surface
sinking teeth into the heavenly goodness of the meat,
sucking the juices with a fiery hungering passion
feeling my body react to the taste of the brain.

A volt of energy that makes my decaying skin feel
almost alive if only for a short moment of happiness,
what is left of my right eye seems to be slowly dissipating
with the lack of control over my new form with little hope.

Pulling a piece of flesh off of what is left of the corpse
throwing it to the others who have become like me,
watching them all fight and rip at the decayed flesh
of their own kind just for the high and thirst for food.

Dragging what is left of my torso around with hopes
to just decay into ash without the agony of afterlife,
watching the ones that used to be my friends drag
their undead selves around in search of person to devour.
