The Darkest ForestA Poem by Kaspar Carrthe dark will not hurt you
Follow me quietly into the darkness
towards the mysterious shadows lurking in the distance, but do not make a sound. Tiptoe as lightly as a ballerina who has no weight upon her footsteps, then they will not hear your presence. Ignore the tree branches breaking off, it is just a warning of the spirits anger when it feels a trespasser is near. Do not listen to the whistles of the wind that echo eerily into your ears as you walk, it is whispering messages from spirits way beyond. Be careful where you place your feet because in one sharp instant it can appear and drag you below the concrete ground. The fierce growling and heavy panting will go just as soon as it has feasted upon your fear and swallowed down your soul. Let your eyes shed no worried tears, for like a shark to crimson blood he will seek you faster than you can blink. In fact it's safer if you just don't breathe because after all, a human soul that does not breathe has no life at all. © 2012 Kaspar CarrAuthor's Note
