MICHAEL'S SONGA Poem by CanonLyric written for a friend who is a musician who lost his way from his passions.A life of living colors on the walls Dreams painted in bright wishes on the shelf Life’s dusty knees from one too many falls Somehow, somewhere in time I lost myself It’s easy to excuse a choice not made When purpose seems to shift to other things Until I start to feel the price I paid I’ll never know what colors wonder brings What happens when I make the abstract clear When all the reasons not to disappear CHORUS It’s not too late to paint what seasons stole The choice is there imprinted on my soul Je mérite d'être quel destin a choisi I deserve to be what destiny chose I’m leaving in the ashes fear and doubt And wishing through the window from inside It’s time to let my inner music out And paint a path in colors not yet tried It calls, I long, it pulls, I try again I fall, it lifts, I rise, it asks for more It needs, I give, it waits, I wonder when I will, it knows, I need, it keeps the score CHORUS I see it grow within the life I made My precious son, his gift, a gift from me Why my belief in him has never swayed Yet my belief in me is not so free If actions speak a thousand words from me I’ll show him how to make a dream be real Life is more than what we have or see It’s how we choose to make another feel. Je mérite d'être quel destin a choisi I deserve to be what destiny chose What happens when I make the abstract clear When all the reasons not to disappear It’s now that I will paint what seasons stole It’s music to be written on my soul © 2014 CanonAuthor's Note
