Why A Man Should Know How To Cook.A Story by CandydThoughtsThree reasons why learning to cook should be one of your priorities.
Having been around the world for the past four years of my life I have noticed something in western countries. A lot of men do not know how to cook, now I am not saying that they can't cook but most just know how to microwave and boil water for Ramen noodles. So I do believe both sexes should cook because its probably one of the most enjoying things to do in this world. But I have been getting some DM's from feminist. So EVEN though the title should be "Why everyone should learn how to cook" I will just leave this one for Men, apparently I don't have the right to talk about Women (And this is about cooking to so most likely they will be triggered)
I started cooking when I was about fourteen years old, my mother taught me the basics. From cutting, to prepping, the right spices that mix well, and lastly how to cook. She was basically the foundation on how I started. My father was a experimental cook, even though the food that he cooked was a 50/50 chance of being either really bad or really great. It still inspired me to always innovate and "spice up" a dish. College played a role because that is when I used the skills that I honed from my parents to use. I cooked for everyone and for the most part I was doing pretty well. BESIDES the elusive fried chicken. God I still have the hardest time with the most simplest of dishes. And lastly I really started love cooking when I lived in Australia, cooking for my exes family and seeing them enjoy my cooking really made me happy. Especially when I didn't need to buy soup when my ex was sick, or when we made dinner together laughing away. And lastly anytime there was a romantic special occasion I could depend on myself to cook away. 1.) You save a lot of money. Besides the fact of the time you put in prepping and cooking, which is about 30-1 hour. You end up saving a substantial amount of money from not going out to eat all of the time. And every time you cook you slightly increase your skills. Money is pretty tight nowadays so why not start pinching the pennies and maybe start making your food at home. I don't get why some men consider cooking a "Gay" thing to do. I find it way more manly that I don't need to depend on anyone to feed myself. But I digress you save a lot of money. Don't believe me? Look at the statistics of cooking at home to going out. 2.) You want it, you make it. Ever craved a roast or watched a Japanese movie and now want sushi? Well when you get your bearings on how to cook and create it becomes easy to pop up Youtube on your phone. Yeah you can buy these things right away, but once you start cooking you'll understand why its a lot more fun to do it yourself. I find myself really excited to go to the produce store and find the freshest ingredients for the food I am about to prepare. It does become addicting to cook (besides the clean up). I know for a guy it sounds really stupid to cook, but trust me bro its like installing that exhaust system on your 2007 Honda Civic, but you can eat it. 3.) You impress the ladies. How many guys do you know that can cook a mean dish? Yeah not that much, so when girls find out you can cook you really don't have that much competition. I can't count how many times when girls find out I can cook ask me "So what will you cook me tonight?" "Oh you can cook? Wow!". I think knowing to cook gives you a extra boost on the attractive spectrum for a girl. Besides lets say you have a girl already you can do cheap date nights, but it will have a bigger impact on you to score that same night. Plus it shows that you truly do care about them. Girls really don't need expensive things to be impressed by you, its usually the small stuff that impresses them. So why not wake up early and cook your girl some breaky unexpectedly, I am sure it will do you a lot of good. And seeing someone you love smile because of your cooking is one of the things that makes me still cook. "For me, cooking is an extension of love." -Hedda Sterne
