Bad Days Happen.A Story by CandydThoughtsSometimes life will keep you on your toes
Two of my glasses broke in less then ten hours.
Today I am just going to tell you a little story that happened to me a couple of days ago. I have been under a lot of stress recently, and partly its because I am leaving the country in a few weeks. Though its the type of stress I want in my life, it is still stress. So obviously I am hoping no setbacks happen to me. Well it happened, but instead of throwing a fit about it, I was sad for a bit but in the end found it very humorous. Yes not one but two of my seeing glasses broke. A huge setback because not only do I leave soon, I have to repair or replace them. Both of them have sentimental value to me, but the one I usually wear everyday had me at a huge disappointment. I bought them before I left Australia to come back to the US. They were nice round glasses that were picked out for me when I was shopping. Though when I started to wear these glasses I always got compliments about them, and how I suited them. No this is not because I won't get compliments no more. Its the fact that they meant a lot to me, and it broke. Yes I get it doesn't really matter things break move on, and so I did. I dusted out my second pair of glasses that I used to wear before the ones that just broke, and decided to use these for my travels. Still a bit sad about my old glasses I decided to continue on with my day. Thinking to myself "What a bad day, oh well it should get better" and while I thought this somehow my day became unluckier. It snapped, yes they were a bit worn out but I thought they were still durable to last maybe for a couple of months. Nope they lasted about six hours of wearing them. Not only was I blind I was angry about how unlucky my day was. Understand that this is huge hurdle, not only am I cutting it close with the repairs I do not even know if they can repair them so I will have to buy a new set, which is a money setback. Okay why should you care about my troubles? You shouldn't I just want to tell you that I had a little lesson in that whole day. "Sh*t happens" Of course we all know this, its nothing new to anyone. You will have a bad day yourself, we all will its inevitable. Sometimes things will break, people will piss you off, or you just are having a genuine bad day. Its okay that is part of life. Its how you react after is what matters. Instead of complaining about my broken glasses I decided to share my unlucky events to people with humor instead of anger. They also started laughing about it, and started telling there stories of unlucky days and events. Hearing the stories I realized that a lot of them had one thing in common. They regretted how poorly they reacted after the bad luck happened to them. Making friends and laughing about our commonality. I decided to take this unlucky event as a funny lesson. Reacting with anger for bad days will only result in regretting how you acted out the rest of your day. Its probably just me but every time I "lost it" I always became ashamed of it later on. We all have to learn to sometimes accept bad things will always happen to us no matter where we are at in life. Try learning to use your emotion whatever it maybe to push you to solve the problem.
