Ella Lowe, sat fidgeting in her chair, clutching her DVD and pictures in her hand, she waited until she was brought up to the front of the class, to read out her essay. The children had, had to research a family member and bring in information. She was suprised when her Great-Grandmother Sylvia sat her down to tell her about Maria Hockley, a member of her family, aboard the Titanic, a survivor with a truly romantic tale to go with it. Without saying anything, Ella slipped the DVD in the player and switched it on. The class groaned as they saw the old woman sat in her chair, ready to tell the story of her Grandmother Maria, who'd kept her story of Titanic only to her grandaughter...

The old woman started to speak.

Most of you have probably of heard of Titanic, the Unsinkable ship, they said. Most of you may of watched the film, but this is a real story, this is the story of Maria Lowe, or Hockley as she was called back then. Her story is full of sadness, romance and of course tradgedy. This is her story...

'isn't it a wonder?' Mr Hockley said as he helped his wife out of the car, 'indeed' said Anna his wife. 'wheres Maria? Maria come on we don't want to be late'
'yes mother' Maria scowled as she climbed out the car, she didn't want to go on this boat, she didn't want to go to America, she knew that when her parents said she'd have a wonderful time travelling and in America, she knew they really meant she'd have a cruel life married to a stranger while they would have lots of money. Maria sighed as her mother dragged her to the ship, she had to admit though it was a grand ship, the largest ship she'd ever seen in fact, but still she didn't want to go with her parents, she wanted to travel the world, see extraordinary things and meet amazing, unique people. She knew that was impossible.

She stood in a daze as her mother and father showed their tickets to the the Officer. Then she was shown to her room. It was beautiful their was no denying it.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, except from the fictional charecters, that I created. Please imagine recognisable charecters as the ones portrayed in the film by James Cameron, I dont like re-writing real peoples lives. So imagine Harold Lowe as Ioan (John) Gruffud. thanks x
