Chapter one. Gaining my wingsA Chapter by Madzthe beginingThe wind blows, my wings expand and I am lifted. Soaring through the air. Nothing is more important to a bird then first flight. I see the beautiful sun glinting off shiny rocks below me. I feel the wind I am creating, it fluffs my feathers and pushes me back. At this precise moment I feel as if I am doing exactly what fate had intended for me in this moment. How long had I been flying? Hours? Maybe. Days? Who knew? Hunger pulled to the forefront of my mind. The more attention i payed to my stomach convulsing, the worse it became. I sloped down and stoped where other birds of my kind sat. Black and white feathers, with light speckled blue in some places. I flew forward and landed with a thud. A fault of new wings. The others laughed with a kaw thrown in. Birds flocked this small, suburban house hold because of it's many bird feeders. I stood in the short, stocky lines, waiting for my turn to ease my gurgling stomach. Finally, as I got to the front, a large male bird stepped forward and shoved past the smallest bird in the flock. Me. © 2011 MadzAuthor's Note
