Resiliency

Resiliency

A Poem by Camryn Jeter

The light in your eyes went out
I stumbled around in the black
Blind to what you wanted,
Needed me to see
But your lips found my mouth in the darkness
Unable to find the words or reasons
Unwilling to let go of familiar comforts
Stuck between a rock and a hard place
We were holding on and letting go And here and gone
And in and out of love.
A long recovery and just an ounce
Of resiliency were
What it took to save
Everything I've ever had.
