Your Beach is my BlissA Poem by Camryn Jeter
I saw you and it was then that I knew
Your sea was the place I'd spend the rest of my life Before I knew you, I knew that Your tides would rise and fall And you would conjure furious storms that would leave me sand-stung and My hair would be tied into a knotted mess In your wind I have always loved the ocean Yet leaving was lost to me on your beachside in particular You see, you have fused with my being Your salt swirls in my veins and has dried on my skin And now if you escape my presence, I shall not escape from your essence. If I were to go blind tomorrow, I would not forget your lazy look at sunset Or even how your hurricanes seemed like a saving grace. I know every grain of you like the back of my hand. Your coastline is my lifeline. © 2015 Camryn Jeter |
