For the Love of Language #2

For the Love of Language #2

A Poem by Camryn Jeter

Writing isn't optional for me. Most people move through their days routinely- occasionally encountering intense sadness or happiness or boredom. But these people... These aunts, cousins, friends, strangers... never have a single poetic thought in their lives. the emotions I am overcome by every day produce such powerful, beautiful language in my mind that I have no choice but to express. Sometimes I can just watch people and see the way someone carries themselves or the way their laugh sounds and it will trigger innumerable poetic notions. In a day I am overwhelmed by every thought. I have to release all the building pressure. Some people say I am dramatic. That is true. Everything is dramatized. There is drama in everything. There is poetry in everything. I'm simply transcribing.

I agree that we must taste life. Test our skills and dreams than use the pen and paper to create poetry and story. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
