A Poem by Camryn Jeter
"

I wrote this one back in the 9th grade. It's about infatuation.

"

I don't know how

or why

or when

but I started watching you

and I saw the wrinkles by your eyes

when you smile

and how your cheeks turn red

when you're embarrassed

and the way you run your fingers through your hair

and your eagerness to make me laugh

and the way you make me want to write songs about you

and how wonder plays across your face when you see

beautiful things

and I can't help but wonder

where does your mind wander off to

and you've never told anyone else

will you take me there

what broke you into a million pieces

and can I fix you

what makes you laugh until you cry

where have you wanted to go

for years and years

and can we go there together

what would you like to change about yourself

what inspires you

what fascinates you

what terrifies you

there's so much I want to know

every facet of your soul

all because you looked at me

with love glowing from your core

and you bothered to get to know the girl

with big brown eyes and a dimpled smile

and I thought

you are the most beautiful thing

I've ever seen.
