Redamancy #1A Poem by Camryn Jeter
I remember the first time
you told me I was beautiful. I shook my head and laughed and forgave you for lying. Then a couple months passed and I kept hearing that compliment. Such a simple phrase, such a strong effect. As you opened all my doors (literally) and held my hand walking down the street, in spite of the people we may meet... As you kissed me in Walmart with strangers around just because neither of us wanted you to leave... I started to get a clue. And when you said it again, I said "Thank you" and smiled and you looked like you were falling Just like I did. And now, whenever I hear you call me beautiful, I feel that way. But that's what you truly are, for helping me get there. Thank you. © 2015 Camryn Jeter |
