Awen #3A Poem by Camryn Jeter
I , always, have been a night owl.
I love the sound of nothing but slow, deep breaths. When the moon shows her beautiful, steadily and faithfully shining face, I am freed of the inhibitions of the day. At night, I do not have to smile and say "It's alright. Really, I'm fine." The velveteen midnight of heaven does not require me to explain myself or make excuses for my shortcomings. The blanket of quiet does not ask anything of me, nor do I ever have to hide or prove myself to her. I am a child of the moon and the daughter of the starts. I'm in love with the open spanse of heaven. I belong wholly to the night. © 2015 Camryn Jeter |
