Wallowing William

Wallowing William

A Poem by Cameron Mauer

William left home to find a new life
despite all that he'd leave behind
It's a shame that he went through
the pain to be where he is now
He never wept nor slept till he
found a promising town
There's no shame that there
was pain to be had to be where he is now
In a flash, he took the town
with a sudden confidence clash
There's no shame in pain if you
like where you are now
In his work, there was one perk that
heightened pleasurable feelings;
To fall in love with someone new
that knew a past life too
There was no shame in pain
with love re-birthed and anew
Joy and positivity spread
like weeds tend to grow...
Soft and sound till real life found
and you know it has to go;
Some way, somehow...
It's a shame that it's this way to
inevitably feel pain
A night grew to into weeks and weeks turned into
lies that went for everything he despised
It's a shame he went through
the pain to be where he is now
It was time to part; they both knew
For so life teaches that love with no roots
will and has always parted
So pain spread its wings over the story
and took it until the end
It's a shame they went though
the pain to be where they are now
Truth be told, only the bold will find
what they want around the bend

This piece is amazing. In a matter of minutes, I was told a story; a life experience that always happens, but is never told the way you did here. Nice job :)
