Stars

Stars

A Poem by Camena cygni

Somewhere
in a galaxy far, far away
up in the sky
somehow
today
on this fateful day
this long, long day
a star died
lost its life
exploded
in one last act of beauty
faded away
to greater places
to a greater existence
where its light will shine on forever.

Today, on this long and fateful day,
up in the sky, in a galaxy far, far away
a star went out
but its light continues to shine on us.

I really like the concept, but I feel it's missing something although I cannot be certain what that is. I think for me it may be over simplified, I think I would like to feel the immensity of this light I see but that no longer exists and I couldn't help but think of Star Wars when I read "In a galaxy far, far away." Having said that you have opened my eyes to something I haven't approached in my own work and in this regard it is excellent, so thank you :D

I love this, so simple and a great, basic but brilliant concept.
