Rain, rain, go away...

Rain, rain, go away...

A Poem by Camena cygni

The rain

dazzles

my ears as it

pitter-patters

on the roof

running in rivets

down the window

pane

The music of

my mother making dinner

my father having a drink

follows

the warm scent

of marinara sauce and

beer through

my bedroom door

Leaning

my head

against the wall

feel vibrations

of my sister practicing

Mozart

Bach

Guaraldi

With every

roll of thunder

electric

lightning

leaves an acidic

taste underneath my tongue

See the sun

through ceiling

roof

clouds

waiting

waiting to come again

some other day.

Really good, whilst I can't say the personal memories have such significance to me the description of the storm resonates a lot. I especially like the lines "leaves an acidic / taste underneath my tongue." Really nice piece!

I love the imagery in this- so clear. I can imagine myself where you are.

Really like this poem,
The details and the descriptions are great and very vivid.
I love the ending, creative play on the popular nursery rhyme.
