Tidal WaveA Poem by Todd D. Harris, Jr.First new spontaneous writing in awhile.
So we meet again, the muse and I; take a beer, have a seat
Don't let these rush of ideas swim for land Let them roll out to a vastness of sea Tidal waves try to push them into the dark void Years of clutter, untruths and noise Connective tissues resurfacing to join up With the rest of me, before the heaviness of life Gets the best of me So much therapy, too little reasoning Plastic kind of relationships From one person to the next Never having any connection These rush of ideas swimming out to sea I try to hold on to them But as time drifts by they scatter out No more refuge within the soul A tidal wave comes crashing against the psyche Tells it what it finally could never Acknowledge A teardrop Like so many other Teardrops In a vastness of sea © 2014 Todd D.
