The War is Here

The War is Here

A Poem by Camboozie
"

A poem about the Ferguson riots

"

Shots ring out in the cold black night

Tears flood through the streets

Come One! Come All! Come Out and Fight!

Your rights cannot be beat

The war is here

In our own homes

Brutality is King

They roll in tanks

Crash through our yards

Their rifles all will sing

Liberty is all we have

So come on let’s make a stand

They’ll try and cut us right in halve

But we’re the ones who make the demands

The news will try and fool us

But we’ll know we’re right

They always put up such fuss

About whether we are white

But life is life Black or white

Yellow, tan, or red

So we won’t stop till you see the light

Or we’re all shot dead
