Stuck at Home for NTI

Stuck at Home for NTI

A Poem by Cameron@Poet
"

NTI - Non-Traditional Instruction Program. A definition for those that don't know.

"
I'm suffocating, trapped, with no one to talk to,
Forced to explain things to people that don't know what I'm going through.
I'm made to paint a picture from my horrid point of view
But sometimes I don't know what colors to use.
My life isn't very bright, it's full of dark hues.
I think I'm starting to crumble and I don't know what to do.
It's to bad people in this world can start over, start anew
'Cause if we could I wouldn't fix one thing, I would fix a few.
But now it smells like nothin' but trouble is gonna brew
And I'm stuck, six feet under, not knowing how I'm getting out of this stew.

Takes back to my teen years. Nobody got me, nobody wanted to. Didn't know who I was myself. Took a year off in my early twenties, became The Drifter. And today, he sometimes speaks in my poetry. Anyway, well done. The angst if the soul nicely shown here.

I have a family now. But there are days when I miss the road. You are most welcome, Sir.

When I read your lines, I thought of some of the young people I have known who have had troubled adolescent years. Time when they felt alien to their surroundings and alone. Most of those young people have grown in strength and spirit and have now come to an understanding of how they fit into a complex picture. We are all different. Time can heal. I hope it does for anyone who has such dark emotions. Good use of metaphor here. Keep writing.
